MF probes the 26-year-old Octagon girl, recently voted UFC Ring Girl of the Year for the second time in a row.
What does it take to be an Octagon Girl?
You’ve got to know and like UFC, be sporty but sexy, and like to work out a lot.
What’s the funniest thing to happen to you?
Referee “Big” John McCarthy [193cm, 109kg] was on the outside of the cage and didn’t see me [Arianny is 165cm and 50kg]. He almost knocked me out of the ring, but I just managed to cling on to him.
You’re surrounded by fully ripped blokes. What workouts do you do to stay in shape?
On tour I run eight kilometres in the morning and do abs and glutes workouts plus cardio and weights. At home in Las Vegas, I like to do kickboxing, Pilates, bootcamp and CrossFit. I like to vary what I do.
Which discipline do you like best?
Kickboxing, because it’s full-body and full-on. After an hour of kickboxing, I’m drenched in sweat.
How many push-ups can you do, and how long can you hold a plank?
About 30 to 40 men’s push-ups and about 100 women’s-style push-ups [on knees], and I can plank for about a minute.
What does a guy have to do to catch your eye?
I like strong bums on men. I’m a butt girl! He has to be able to keep up with me, too. I’m very active. I like someone I can work out with and chill out with.
Having done a Playboy shoot [November 2010] would you say you are more comfortable clothes-on or naked?
Naked. I’m very comfortable in my own skin. I like being naked. I had a lot of fun doing that shoot.
“Before I die I want to…”
Go on a Euro trip, living out of a backpack spontaneously with no rules. I’d love to visit Spain, Venice and Ibiza.
What’s your biggest indulgence?
Pizza and chocolate — I’ve got to have them at least once a month. The pizza has to be thin crust, Italian-style — pepperoni or vegie.
What do you think you’ll do when you eventually retire from the Octagon?
I’ll focus on fitness and nutrition — that’s what I did in college — and set up a charity to encourage young girls to follow their dreams. Plus, I like to sing, and I’m working with The Manufactured Superstars [an American electro DJ duo]. Hopefully, I’ll get to tour with them later this year.
